Depends on how you want to go with it.
1) dyes have always been a staple there. Black dye is like ectos there.
2) charr boss farming can yeild great and unique drops
3) collector armor farming is slow but can be done almost as you do other stuff.

This worked the best for me. You can always profit from somebody elses laziness. Spider legs and seeds at Raniks was the best and fastest. Always got a Hunters Ale on the farming runs

S/he wants some advise on pre-searing, just because you may find it absurd - dosn't mean the rest of us do. Anyway to anser the question, i would advise Charr Boss runs, last time i was in pre i saw the salvage kits going for ~5k. You would get plenty of Charr bags too, which go for 500g-1k, and perhaps some nice drops.

I actually like the wizards folly run. The path is almost written for you and you get icy lodestones, bear pelts, worn belts, and of course your normal drops. I'll do the other runs when I get bored or tired of wizards. I usually reserve regent valley runs for when I can spend more time actively doing them as there is so much in such a wide area to do.....and I hate those skales.

The best way to make money in my opinion is the Charr boss runs. Charr Salvage Kits can go for 5k and bags can go for 900. Minor runes and insignas can go for alot especially minor fire and minor swordsmanship.
